The ‘Me’ I Didn’t See

Lately, I am seeing a new version of ‘me’,

the version that others could always see.

The stature and confidence that escaped my sight,

while blinding others with a presence bright.

How could I not see ‘me’ all along?

My self-assessment so terribly wrong.

The many layers that took years too build,

kept me securely sheltered and unfulfilled.

But as each layer falls away,

with new awareness, I can honestly say,

I like this ‘me’, no arrogance or deceit,

a once broken woman, now beautifully complete.

The ‘me’ I’d always failed to see,

is now someone I am proud to be.

Elegance…

Elegance…

refined, cultured.

Aesthetically pleasing, tasteful

exquisitely beautiful, stylish, chic

Getting to Know You…

Getting to know you is going to be fun,

could it be that God has sent me the one?

The one who will love and cherish me always,

The face I will awaken to for many blessed days.

A face that is serious but handsome as well,

I wonder about the tales that your thoughts could tell.

Thoughts that I hope are often of me,

and our future possibilities.

We click so well, we’re a natural fit,

like a pitcher’s ball to a catcher’s mitt.

Hopefully, our love will never strike out,

there is so much we have to talk about.

Our sense of humor fits well together too,

I can’t wait to share more laughter with you.

Am I afraid? Yes, I admit,

even though you feel like a potential fit.

Your manliness is overwhelming; it’s been a long time,

you’re just doing you, and that’s not a crime.

I look forward to getting to know you more,

my passion and emotions are starting to pour.

So, grab a bucket, this could be a mess,

am I feeling you? Most definitely, yes!

My Black Prince Indeed

My black prince standing brave and proud,

noticeable to all, in even the largest crowd.

Definitely a beautiful sight to see,

and the best part of all ~ this prince belongs to me.

Many a man observes your grace,

but few can seem to match your pace.

You walk with a confidence that is unmistakably yours,

that make other men envious, right down to their cores.

You stand steadfast in your opinions and feelings,

carefully choosing those for your few select dealings.

Your presence is like the wind, strong and unseen,

body perfectly maintained, muscles cut and lean.

Ah, yes. My black prince indeed!

Wedding Vows…

This choice we have made ~ to be as one,

to greet one another under each morning sun.

We’ve pondered and wondered ~ even debated this move,

yet our final decision undoubtedly proves.

Our love for one another outweighs all debate,

for in you I have found the perfect soul mate.

Through the roughest of times ~ you were solid as stone,

the depth of your love, you have unselfishly shown.

I’m so thankful for you and your loving ways,

with God in our lives, we will share many blessed days.

Hopes and Dreams….

Floating wishes and crystal dreams,

illuminated by the earth’s moonbeams.

The bigger the hope, the brighter the gleam

A dream weaver’s desires, remain supreme.

With a deep inhale, hope is set in motion,

a special blend of the passionate potion.

Every new breath is carefully collected

in a bubble-like shell, so delicately protected.

A slow exhale puts it all in perspective,

singular thinking and introspective.

Some dreams are big and others small,

never ceasing to amaze and enthrall.

Dreams represent the human condition

while blossoming into the liveliest fruition,

For what one dreams is who they are,

the best intentions will raise the bar.
