A Space Unfilled

I often sit and wonder where you are now,

with whom you are with, what you’re doing and how.

You crossed my mind, that unforgettable face.

The memory is still vivid, in my heart, there’s still a place.

There is a gap in my heart, that remains open wide.

It has yet to be filled, so the pain can subside.

Maybe this space will never be filled.

When we went our separate ways,

a part of me was forever killed.

See, the memory of you will always be there.

As I reflect on our past, with sadness, I stare.
